Terms of Service
Effective 12 June 2026 · MeritAfrica, owned by YiwSAMA Technologies.
1. The service
MeritAfrica, operated by YiwSAMA Technologies, provides browser-based technical assessments, integrity monitoring, and verified skill reports connecting candidates with hiring organisations.
By creating an account or starting an assessment you accept these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. One person, one account: shared or proxy accounts are prohibited.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to take a verified assessment.
3. Assessments & integrity
Assessments are taken under stated rules: no unauthorised assistance, impersonation, plagiarism, or attempts to exfiltrate hidden test cases or challenge content.
We record integrity signals (tab switches, paste events, keystroke timing and similar telemetry) solely to evaluate authenticity. Breaches may result in invalidated scores, withheld reports, or account suspension.
4. Reports & verification
Completed assessments may produce a signed report with a public verification hash. Candidates control whether their profile is shared with recruiters via the consent toggle.
Hiring decisions remain the sole responsibility of the hiring organisation. Scores are evidence of demonstrated skill, not a guarantee of job performance.
5. Subscriptions & payments
Paid plans are billed in advance via our payment processor. Fees, quotas and features are described on the Pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice for new billing periods.
Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation policy.
6. Acceptable use
Do not probe, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the platform; do not upload malicious code beyond the scope of a challenge sandbox; do not misrepresent another person's identity or results.
We may suspend access for security, legal or integrity reasons, with notice where practicable.
7. Intellectual property
Challenge content, rubrics and platform software are owned by YiwSAMA Technologies. Candidates retain ownership of their submitted code; they grant us a licence to evaluate it and display it to recruiters they have consented to share with.
8. Liability
The service is provided with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Changes & contact
We may update these terms; material changes are announced at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
